Work with folders
Your Microsoft Exchange mailbox contains folders with specific functions for handling your e-mail messages. These folders include Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Junk E-mail, Outbox, and Sent Items.
You can create additional folders to organize messages into different categories, such as "Urgent" or "Personal," or you can organize messages by a particular project. Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access allows you to delete folders and move and copy existing folders to suit your needs.
To display the contents of a folder, click the folder. All the items in that folder are listed in the main Outlook Web Access display area.
Tip To view the contents of a higher-level folder, click Navigate Up One Folder on the main toolbar.
Default e-mail folders
Outlook Web Access provides the following default e-mail folders:
Deleted Items
Stores messages you delete. If you delete a message from this folder, it's permanently removed from your mailbox.
Drafts
Stores messages you save. You can save messages you want to finish composing or send at a later time.
Inbox
Stores newly received items. New, unopened items are displayed in boldface type. Once opened, the new items revert to normal type.
Junk E-mail
Stores newly received e-mail messages that have been identified as junk e-mail. Check this folder regularly to ensure that you do not miss messages that you want to receive.
Outbox
Stores outgoing messages and meeting requests until they're sent.
Sent Items
Stores a copy of each message or meeting request you send.
Personal folders
In addition to your default e-mail folders, Outlook Web Access provides access to the following Outlook folders for your personal use. You can view, modify, and create tasks; however, you can only view your Notes and Journal items.
